Let's Celebrate Bandra

Bandra has always been a happening place. Over 100 years ago it was the pride of Salsette. Though, today the landscape in the Queen Of The Suburbs has changed, it still leads the rest of Mumbai as a melting pot of activity and culture, a showcase of lifestyle products and services, a suburb with the largest number of restaurants, an educational hub that attracts a cross section of people, all wanting to make it their home. Residents are proud to be called 'Bandraites'. This pride stems from the enormous wealth of culture and talent that exists in this beautiful suburb.

There are myriad reasons to celebrate being a resident of Bandra. Bandra has something to offer to everyone and the festival showcases the best that the suburb has to offer in heritage, music, sport, theatre, literature & poetry, food, art and film. Celebrate Bandra Festival aims to showcase this culture and talent and portray diversity among communities that reside in the queen of the suburbs. As we all come together as citizens, the involvement of residents has been overwhelming. They have all jumped onto the Celebrate Bandra bandwagon with enthusiasm and an attitude that it is "Payback Time" and this is their commitment to their suburb.

The suburb is fortunate to have three wonderful waterfronts-the three promenades on Carter Road, Bandstand and Bandra Reclamation along with public gardens, schools and colleges, community halls, street corners and village squares and alongside the ruins of the Portuguese fort at Bandstand, citizens have constructed a 400-seat amphitheatre. With such a variety of venues and a mind-boggling array of events it is no surprise that 'Celebrate Bandra' is poised to be the largest festival of its kind in the country.
